The fourth volume devoted to renowned Ukrainian singer Konstantin Ognevoy. The CD contains fragments from operas as well as well-known Russian romances. All recordings are newly remastered. This year renowned opera singer Konstantin Ognevoy (1926-1999) would have been 80. Possessing lyrical tenor of magnificent beauty Konstantin favored his audience with a present of meeting the best examples of opera classics and song heritage. On opera scene the singer embodied the most famous lyrical characters - Alfred, Herzog ("La Traviata", "Rigoletto" J. Verdi), Lenskiy ("Yevgeniy Onegin" P. Tchaikovsky), Almaviv ("Le Barbier De Seville" G. Rossini), Faust ("Faust" C. Gounod), Tamino ("Magic Flute" Mozart) etc. Konstantin Ognevoy regularly performed on concerts, his repertory comprises compositions by Schubert, Schumann, Grieg, Rachmaninov, Ukrainian traditional songs, Russian romances. Singer's voice and his performing dexterity fascinated the audience in native Ukraine as well as in other countries. |
